Happy New Year!

As a small business, we genuinely value every person that puts their trust in us when making their real estate decisions. From our client-friends finding their forever home, to some making an investment decision in Cayman for the first time, and assisting many Caymanians with buying and selling, it was an exciting year…

We welcome 2024 with hopes that health, happiness and everything good that life has to offer will be yours and that you share that with everyone you meet. Our plan is to continue to that, with professionalism and CaymanKindness!

CHRISTMAS SEASON 2023

Well it was a safe one overall. The police patrols and road blocks were a definite plus and while we still wonder where some people got their license to drive, there were no road deaths and New Year's celebrations were safe and enjoyable ones. The skies as the clock struck midnight were just magical and some say the best fireworks display ever (we do keep getting better each year!). Buses and taxis were in full transportation mode and it was great to see people being safe and SMART with their partying. This added to the magic of Christmas in Cayman and the homes lit up, Camana Bay and George Town festivities topped of a wonderful December for locals and tourists alike. Now we're into 2024 and hope that everyone has a safe, healthy and successful one!

CAYMAN IS THE BEST!

Of course we already know that but so does the rest of the world. To support our clearly biased statement, here are some kudos we have been given lately on the global stage: • Cayman Brac airport was voted "Best Small Airport" • Caribbean Travel Awards '24 named Cayman as the Luxury Destination of the Year • We welcomed over 1 million cruise passengers from January to November '23. Department of Tourism's New York campaign "Warm up in Cayman" has our beautiful beaches on the sides of buses in the NYC in order to entice winter-weary folks to Cayman to escape the snow. "Swag Bags" for the Golden Globe award winners (a US-based entertainment gala event equivalent to the Oscars) has a Ritz-Carlton Cayman stay in it, valued at around $20,000. No doubt we'll be seeing a few (more) celebrities soaking up the sun in Cayman soon. Luckily, whoever comes to visit can enjoy peace and quiet since we are not 'celebrity hounds', so the rich and famous vacation here in privacy without media drama.

MARKET MOVERS

There's no denying that sales slowed down in the last half of 2023, but interestingly enough, our investor confidence has not. We have seen huge sales of luxury properties over the last 2 years. This supports our past comments that the slowing in the market has been for properties under $1M, and affected full time residents/Caymanians due to costs of living and rising interest rates. 43 sales of $4M and up occurred in '22 Ironically, the number is exactly the same for '23. This does not include pending sales of pre-construction luxury properties such as WaterMark, Aqua Bay, Grand Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental, One GT, Lacovia and Aqua. Some of these may close in '24 but more than likely into '25.
